TerryWhite Chemmart is seeking two motivated, patient-focused Intern Pharmacists to join our Sunshine Coast network and complete their internship year within a supportive, high-performing pharmacy environment.

We currently have 2 x Intern Pharmacist opportunities available at our Buderim and Parklands pharmacies. These positions offer a unique opportunity to develop your clinical and professional skills while being mentored by experienced pharmacists who are committed to your success.

Our network spans eight Sunshine Coast locations: Bellvista, Brightwater, Buderim, Caloundra South, Caloundra North, Chancellor, Mountain Creek, and Parklands.

About the Role

As an Intern Pharmacist, you will work closely with experienced pharmacists and pharmacy teams to gain hands-on experience across all aspects of community pharmacy practice. You will build your clinical knowledge, develop dispensing and counselling skills, and contribute to delivering exceptional healthcare services to our community.

Throughout your internship, you will receive structured support, coaching, and exposure to a broad range of professional pharmacy services to help prepare you for general registration as a pharmacist. This support extends beyond the pharmacy team to include experienced TerryWhite Chemmart network leaders and the Business Development Manager (BDM), ensuring you have access to guidance, mentoring, and development opportunities throughout your internship year.

You will also participate in the 2027 TerryWhite Chemmart Masterclass Intern Program, a comprehensive intern development program provided at no cost to support your transition from pharmacy graduate to registered pharmacist. The program complements your workplace learning through structured training, monthly learning milestones, and practical activities designed to build confidence and capability across all areas of community pharmacy practice.

Key Responsibilities

Dispensary Experience

• Assist with dispensing prescriptions accurately and efficiently under pharmacist supervision.
• Develop knowledge of Professional Practice Standards, QSPP requirements, and Queensland's real-time prescription monitoring system (QScript).
• Support stock management, expiry checking, and dispensary compliance activities.
• Assist with generic conversions and script-on-file initiatives.
• Learn and support Dose Administration Aid (DAA) services.
• Observe and participate in medication review processes, staged supply services, and other professional programs.
• Assist with simple compounding activities as required.
• Report and document dispensing incidents in accordance with pharmacy procedures.

Customer Care

• Provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Assist customers with health and medication enquiries under pharmacist guidance.
• Develop confidence in patient counselling and communication.
• Build positive relationships with patients and local healthcare providers
• Promote CareClinic services, myTWC, and Rewards programs.
• Respond to customer enquiries promptly and professionally, including telephone enquiries.

Professional Development

• Complete all internship requirements and training programs.
• Participate in the 2027 TerryWhite Chemmart Masterclass Intern Program, a structured intern development program provided at no cost.
• Complete monthly learning milestones and practical workplace activities covering:

1. Dispensary skills
2. PBS knowledge and processes
3. Advanced dispensing
4. Regulated medicines
5. Clinical governance
6. CareClinic services
7. Patient communication
8. Pharmacy management skills

• Receive ongoing mentoring and support from pharmacists, pharmacy leaders, and the Business Development Manager (BDM) throughout your internship year.
• Maintain and develop current pharmaceutical knowledge.
• Participate in professional learning opportunities and workplace training.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, professional standards, and TerryWhite Chemmart procedures.
• Contribute positively to team goals and workplace culture.

What You Bring

• Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent) and eligibility to commence internship training.
• Current Intern Pharmacist registration (or eligibility for registration) with AHPRA.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A willingness to learn and embrace feedback.
• A positive attitude and genuine passion for patient care and community pharmacy.
