What does a Professional Care Pharmacist do?

As the Professional Care Pharmacist, you are ultimately responsible and accountable for remaining directly accessible to, and proactively engaging with, the patient. In this specified pharmacist role, you will provide complete healthcare solutions to patients using over-the-counter recommendations, lifestyle advice, prescription medicines and referrals. The PCP is a primary care specialist, using their thorough understanding of minor ailments to provide an unparalleled customer service experience for the patient.

What’s required to be a Professional Care Pharmacist?

• Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent)
• Pharmacist Scope of Practice training
• Current General Registration as a pharmacist (without conditions or undertakings) with AHPRA, is required.
• Clear and effective communication skills, with an attention to detail
• Retail Pharmacy industry experience
• You must have the right to live and work in Australia to apply for this job.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Professional Care Pharmacist works to facilitate provision of great health care and service to our patients by ensuring that they are provided with the right medication and the best possible advice at every visit, with a major focus of ensuring that all patients are counselled on their medicines at every opportunity.

• Provide and actively promote pharmacy vaccination services.
• Provide counselling and advice to patients for both their medicine (both prescribed and over the counter) and their medical conditions.
• Consult patients in a friendly, professional, and timely fashion.
• Execute Health and Professional Services to the highest standard.
• Work with and develop skills of all dispensary and pharmacy team members.
• Actively be involved in all pharmacist training opportunities.
